The game plan all along was to score quickly and force Beaver to basically abandon their running game, but even Coach Hall was shocked after Jordan Edmunds ran the opening kick off back for an 85 yard touchdown. A play that would spark the Jayhawks offense and defense, into a total domination of the Bobcats.
Edmunds would score his second TD of the night, from five yards out to go up 14-0 on the Bobcats while Shavonta Craft finished the night with 119 yards on 11 carries and three of his own touchdowns, from one yard, 24 yards and 30 yards out. Anthony Canady would add another from 43 yards and safety Seth Miller scooped up a fumble recovery and returned it from 67 yards out.
