Live updates from the Blue Jays Championship game!
In the year 2000, St. Louis defeated Tennessee in the Super Bowl by a final score of 23-16. Kathie Lee Gifford, announced that she's calling it quits after the current season of "Live! With Regis & Kathie Lee", and the big movies at theatres were Erin Brockovich and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Did any of those facts, make you say, "Wow, where has the time gone?"
The Jeannette Blue Jays are wondering the same thing.
The year 2000 was also the last time the Blue Jays were in a championship title game. Doug Phillips, the current Jayhawks assistant coach, was the Blue Jays head coach back then and lead his team to a championship victory.
Fast forward 12 years later, the Blue Jays under the direction of new head coach Ed Cycak, are on the door step for another championship win. Having an outstanding regular season finishing 8-2 and with a recent 18-14 win over Franklin in a first round playoff game, last week, the Blue Jays will now play the most important game of their season when they face off against Penn Trafford for the 2012 KBL Youth League Championship (112lb Division). Kick off set for 4:00pm, from Shady Side Academy.
Doug's son is now an assistant coach for the Blue Jays and his grandson is a player on the team, and that's a difference that 12 years can make!
I have arranged to have updates from todays championship game, sent directly to me, so I'm inviting you all to follow along on our facebook page and cheer on the Blue Jays as they battle for the Championship Title! Updates will be posted as quickly as they arrive.
Lets Go Blue Jays!!

A new coach, some new staff members, a new offense, and some new players all add up to what should be, a lot of uncertainty on the field. But for the Blue Jays it's the complete opposite.
